Simply put, the Sunshine State is one of the most popular places in the world, let alone the U.S. to go and play golf. There is such a vast number of golf courses and potential golf destinations, no wonder there are so many people asking about the best Florida golf packages.
In this post, we’ll take a look at some of the best places to play golf in Florida as well as some of the most popular packages for this coming fall 2023.
The best Florida golf packages
Let’s kick straight off with the best Florida golf packages out there. Speaking from experience, I recommend all of these and would be happy staying at any of them. Effectively, these are the ‘best of the best’ in my eyes.
Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, Jacksonville, from $1,159pp
This superb resort is one of the most popular options for a Florida golf vacation. The accommodation is top class, with a huge selection of different room options, including various guest rooms and suites. But for groups of golfers, the villas offer all the space you need and are more affordable.
Few places will match the golf options. The resort is positioned right next to TPC Sawgrass which is home to the iconic THE PLAYERS Stadium Course. You also have the fantastic Dye’s Valley Course, which gets overlooked but is an awesome test of golf.
Packages at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, for 2 nights and 2 rounds, start from $1,159 per person.
Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, from $549pp
OK, this is maybe not the most impressive golf resort in Florida. There are plenty that are bigger, more modern and have more golf courses onsite. But Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill is a ‘must-visit’ for any discerning golfer for a number of reasons.
Not only is this the celebrated home of ‘The King’, it is also where the ‘Arnold Palmer Invitational’ takes place on an annual basis. This is a firm favorite tournament on the PGA Tour, allowing you to follow in the footsteps of the pros.
The resort has a homely vibe, with an emphasis on comfort and good service. The 70 guest rooms consist of lodges, suites and cottages.
Packages at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge, for 2 nights and 2 rounds, start from $549 per person.
Innisbrook Golf Resort, Tampa, from $469pp
Located on Florida’s west coast, forty minutes from Tampa, is the emphatic Innisbrook Resort. Yet another Florida golf resort which is a mainstay on the PGA Tour with the ‘Valspar Championship’, Innisbrook is a golfer’s haven.
Positioned in a vast, heavily wooded plot of land, there are four championship courses to choose from. Of these four, it is the Copperhead Course which most people will want to tick off.
Within the same 900 acres you’ll find the accommodation, which has a number of different options to choose from. Again, for groups of golfers, I would recommend the spacious lodges, which are the more affordable option.
Packages at Innisbrook Golf Resort, for 2 nights and 2 rounds of golf, start from $469 per person.
PGA National Resort, West Palm Beach, from $615pp
One of south Florida’s most popular golf destinations, the PGA National Resort is as good as it gets for a Florida golf vacation. This epic resort is located to the north of West Palm Beach, in Palm Beach Gardens.
There are five, yes five outstanding championship courses to choose from designed by some of the greatest course designers out there. The Champion Course, which hosts the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic was designed by Jack Nicklaus. And amongst others, you also have the Fazio and the Palmer Courses, designed by Tom Fazio and Arnold Palmer respectively.
The hotel itself is huge, with 339 modern guest rooms, multiple restaurants, an incredible array of amenities as well as a huge, 40,000 square foot spa.
Packages at PGA National Resort, for 2 nights and 2 rounds, start from $615 per person.
Trump National Doral Miami, Miami, from $519pp
Another resort which has been a mainstay on the PGA Tour for multiple decades, is the impressive Trump National Doral Miami. Recently the beneficiary of significant investment, this is one of the must luxury Florida golf resorts you’ll find.
Just minutes away from Miami’s International airport, there are four championship golf courses on offer. The bucket-list course is The Blue Monster, which more recently hosted various LIV Golf events.
But playing golf is just one of the enjoyments here. The hotel is immense and offers 643 rooms and suites. Expect nothing less than top class, luxury accommodation, amenities and dining options.
Packages at Trump National Doral Miami, for 2 nights and 2 rounds, start from $519 per person.
